WATCH: Trump's star pulverized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
Donald Trump‘s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was smashed on Wednesday morning by a man dressed as a construction worker.
Deadline reports that the man said he intended to remove and auction off the star to raise money for women who have accused the presidential candidate of sexual assault. Instead, he ended up destroying the star.
In a video clip (see below) being shared on social media, the man, who said his name was Jamie Otis, who wears a hardhat as he demolishes the star with a sledgehammer and pickax, says he has family members who were sexually assaulted.
Trump’s star was dedicated in 2007 for his work on NBC’s “The Apprentice” and had also been defaced with a reverse swastika in January and a mute sign in June.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which maintains the walk, has already made repairs on Trump’s star, which needs to be covered for several days before it can be polished, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter.
Before the repair, a Trump campaign sticker could be seen on the damaged star.
The Hollywood walk became top news on Twitter for the incident, where people shared photos of the damaged star and how quickly it was being repaired Wednesday.
